The average premium for renters insurance in 2006 was $188 per year, according to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Considering the amount of protection you get from that coverage, the premium is well worth the expense.
Renters insurance protects your belongings in the event of disaster while you’re leasing a home or apartment. The basic renters insurance policy is called an “HO-4″ policy.
